About Life Signs TaxidermySomeone once said, "I have fished and hunted most of the days of my life..........the rest were all wasted". Launi and i have spent the majority of our lives enjoying the great outdoors and all that it has to offer. When that monster bull sneaks in and hits you with his shrill bugle, sending shivers through your body. Hearing the drag scream and turning around to see your rod bent in half as a king salmon rips away from the boat. The spit and drumming of a gobbler, telling you that it was a big mistake to let him come in so close. These are just a few of the reasons why we love the great outdoors and cherish the time we spend there. Quality mounts from Life Signs Taxidermy is a great way to re-live those special moments in your hunting and fishing adventures! Be safe out there and we hope that all your trips afield are successful ones, Dave and Launi Burdge |
Field Care Of Your TrophyGive us a call before you head out on your hunt if you have any questions or are unsure of how to take care of your game animal. Proper field care or the lack of it can make or break a terrific mount. Try to keep your game as clean and cool as possible and the sooner you can get it to a taxidermist the better. If you can't get to a taxidermist right away then let your specimen cool, place in a plastic bag and freeze. Small animals (coyote and smaller), birds and fish should not be gutted. Let them cool off and then place them in a plastic bag and freeze. Keep fins flat against the body and wrap in a moist towel before freezing. Tuck bird heads under the wing and lay the feathers down flat before freezing. Good luck! |
